PRANAV AUNDHKAR
Project Engineer
June 2013 - May 2014
I worked as an Project Engineer for Sharada Motor Ind. to design and develop a Hydro-pneumatic machine for the exhaust systems assembly line. This machine was utilized to assemble a heat shield to the catalytic converter on the exhaust system (TATA Indigo). Main emphasis was to redesign the existing available hydraulic machine to convert it into a hydro-pneumatic machine.
This project drastically changed the line efficiency with a very minimal investments for dies and other components.

SKILLS
HYDRO-PNEUMATIC PRESS MACHINE:
• Designed and developed a Hydro-Pneumatic (automated) press machine, for assembly of the heat shield, on a Catalytic converter of TATA- Indigo car - An effective combination of hydraulic and pneumatic technology.
• Designed 3D parts & complex assemblies using SolidWorks & created assembly/process documentation.
• Produced detailed drawings and layouts for equipment and sub-assemblies using AutoCAD/Inventor.
• GD & T of the machine parts and assembly.
• Extensive utilization of DVP&R and DFMEA for the machine design and developments.
• Tracked and reported project status regularly to immediate Project Manager.
• Reduced assembly time, worker fatigue and increased the production from 255 units per shift to 400 units per shift i.e. 60% increment.
• Reduction of per unit assembly cost by $1.63
• Energy saving and increased operation speed, as compared to equivalent standard pneumatic or hydraulic system.
• Improved quality due to automated clinching and pressing process.
• Reduced maintenance of hydro-pneumatic cylinder has less maintenance cost.
• Improved productivity due to a reduction in cycle time and cost saving.
